A Pennsylvania state trooper was accidentally shot dead during a gun training exercise last night.
David Kedra, 26, was shot in the chest as he participated in an annual exercise at a firing range at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Complex in Conshohocken.
He was airlifted to Temple University Hospital, but later died from his injuries, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, but state police said it was an 'accident'.I wonder which safety rules they violated: "never point your weapon at something you don't want to destroy," "treat all guns as loaded," "keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot" ....
Now, if this had been a private citizen who had discharged the weapon, he or she would probably be facing a negligent homicide charge.
