Senate Votes to Advance Immigration Reform Bill to Debate

The Senate voted 82 to 15 to advance the bill, with all 15 "no" votes from Republicans. Interestingly, Sen. John McCain abstained from the vote. I guess he thinks Arizonans will forget his support for the bill if he tells him that he didn't vote for it?

Remember, all the Democrats need to do is tip Texas to voting Democratic for national elections, and they will control the White House into the foreseeable future. Even if they are unsuccessful with Texas, they may shift Arizona to being reliably Democratic. In that case, anyone willing to take bets that McCain changes parties?
