The Powerline Blog reports that Rep. Paul Ryan is willing to vote for the so-called immigration reform bill, and opines that there are enough votes in the House to support it. Of course, much of the support for this bill comes from big business wanting cheap labor. But I believe that Republican politicians actually believe that the illegal aliens that they transform into new citizens will actually kindly remember Republican support for this bill, and be won over to vote Republican. I don't know. If the black community, by and large, doesn't remember that the KKK was a de facto branch of the Democratic party and that Republicans supported civil rights over the opposition of many Democrats, why do the Republicans expect the outcome to be any different this time.
