Jim Carrey Wants You To Be His Sacrificial Lamb

By now, you have probably all read numerous accounts of Jim Carrey's distasteful, insulting attack on gun owners generally, and Charlton Heston in particular. Carrey penned a somewhat garbled response which has been published at the Huffington Post. Carrey admits to having an armed security guard, but contends he is not being a hypocrite because his guard does not carry a "large magazine." Not sure if that means that the guard only carries a "full capacity" magazine, or if the guard has a magazine fewer than 15 rounds (Colorado), 10 rounds (many other states and the old AWB), or 7 rounds (NY).

But here is where the hypocrisy really raises its head. Carrey writes:
I would trade my money, my fame, my reputation and legacy if there were the slightest chance of preventing the anguish of another Columbine, Virginia Tech, Aurora, or Sandy Hook Elementary School. I ask you, truly, what manner of human being would not?
But not his life (see the reference to having an armed bodyguard, above). And, considering the glorification of violence in Hollywood films, whether Carrey would trade his money and fame, it is clear that Hollywood as a whole would not.
